Earthquake & Flooding 6-6-23

Haiti suffered 4.9 magnitude earthquake, just days after severe flooding has killed dozens. Estimates are that more than 50% of the people of Haiti are facing starvation and gangs now control almost half of the country.
It is surprising to me, but if I didn’t go looking for these things, I would never have heard of them. It makes me realize how much people are suffering all around the world and I am unaware, sadly even in my own neighborhood. Not that this is the only thing that points it out, but it is one more thing that makes me realize how incredibly small and selfish I make my own little world, even though I strive to be more aware of what is going on around me.
