The family will begin making their way north instead, to try and get to Cap Haitien. (They will need to travel light, so if they do make it to the US, it will be with not much more than the clothes on their backs.) If they make it to Cap Haitien, they will fly the 30 minutes to Port-au-Prince and wait for a plane to Miami, hoping the airport is not attacked.
